Baywalk, Camotes Islands

I keep writing Camotes Island when it should be Camotes Islands. There are three main islands in Camotes and there are islets too near the big ones. You will notice that while standing at the Baywalk. Baywalk is like a plaza where children can play, lovers can date and families can go picnic.

Before we go to Timubo Cave, our tour guide suggested that we took our lunch at the Baywalk. The place is along our way to the cave and it offers good and cheaper foods. The area is for recreation and with a good view that  is worth a stop. We were hungry so we agreed right away. We ate barbecue, hanged rice and grilled sea foods.

My brother shared us his little discovery. Baywalk is in San Francisco Island and part of it is facing the island of Poro. In the photo you can see us looking at the island of Poro while we were standing at the edge of San Francisco Island.

Yes, that mangrove over there belongs to another island. Amazing because anyone can swim the distance between these two islands. You can even wade your way if you want to cross to the other island during low tide.

The tour guide also suggested that we will buy fish and meat from the market because there was no mall or market near the private resort that we were staying. The market below did not look like one but it was. It was an open structure in the middle of an open field.

We expected a lot of sea foods in the island but unfortunately they were not that abundant. The typhoon had visited the area before us so most fishermen were not able to return to the sea. Since supply was scarce the price was quite high. But the sea foods were fresh and tasty. We bought ice buckets to preserve the fishes and squids. We also bought some things for fishing. Nonoc Private Resort is in an isolated area and not suitable for swimming.
